Over 250 members of the Delaware County community attended the foundation’s March 1 launch. Bob Bruce, chairman of the Board of Directors, and Frances Sheehan, president, introduced the new foundation to the community. One highlight of the evening was the unveiling of a new name for the foundation — The Foundation for Delaware County.
In addition, Bruce and Sheehan made several key announcements of interest to donors, nonprofits and the community at large.
“We are already the largest foundation serving Delaware County,” Sheehan said. “We’ll continue to run great public health programs. And we’ll build on those efforts with grants that emphasize the health and well-being of children and expand the capacity of Delaware County nonprofits to meet the changing needs of our diverse residents.
“We also are establishing ourselves as a community foundation to serve the entire county, bringing together donors, creating public/private partnerships, running programs and making grants.”
