Health Start is one of the foundation programs in Delaware County that serve women and children.

Healthy Start – Eliminating Disparities in Perinatal Health

For the past 20 years, Healthy Start has been reducing the infant mortality rate and improving birth outcomes in Delaware County. Areas served by this federally funded program include Chester, Upland, Eddystone, Woodlyn, Parkside, Chester Township, Marcus Hook, Trainer, and Linwood. Nurse–Family Partnership

Having a baby can be a frightening and isolating experience, especially for first-time mothers living in poverty. Nurse-Family Partnership is a national program with deep roots in Pennsylvania. Delaware County WIC is one of the foundation programs that serve women and children.

Delaware County WIC Program (WIC)

WIC is a supplemental food and nutrition education program for women, families and young children. Our WIC program serves Pennsylvania residents who fit two criteria. First, they must have a medical or nutritional risk. Second, they must have a household gross income less than 185 percent the U.S. Poverty Income Guidelines.  Read more»  |   En Español»

Drug Free Communities is one of the foundation programs that serve teens in Delaware County.

Drug Free Communities 

The Chester Drug Free Communities collaborates with community partners to prevent and reduce substance abuse among youth and adults. The program works in two ways. First, it addresses issues in Chester that increase the risk of substance abuse. And second, it promotes factors that minimize risk. Read more»
