We are investing with grants that help nonprofits in our county expand and improve services, and with professional development through our Center for Nonprofit Excellence that helps our county’s nonprofit staff further develop their leadership skills.
Our grantmaking seeks to have a positive effect on the social determinants of health — the key factors that influence individuals’ and families’ overall health and well-being, such as healthcare access and quality, economic stability, education, food security, and safe and healthy housing. To have a sustainable effect and achieve greater health equity in Delaware County, we supported 57 nonprofit organizations through our 2024 Impact Grantmaking program.
In 2024, the Foundation engaged Victoria Dougherty Consulting LLC to conduct an evaluation of our Impact Grant Portfolio between 2018 and 2023. The portfolio evaluation included a review of the Foundation’s grants database, and interviews with grantee partners and community stakeholders. We closely examined the outcomes and outputs of our philanthropic efforts during this five-year period. The completed reports shows the impact of our initiatives and presents recommendations to adjust our grantmaking strategy to guide our funding priorities over the next five years.
