In a county with more than 4,500 nonprofits, we know we can accomplish so much more together.
Delaware County’s nonprofit community is robust and dedicated to improving the well-being of county residents. Since its inception in 2016, The Foundation for Delaware County is proud to provide financial assistance with grants, professional development and convening opportunities through our Center for Nonprofit Excellence, “back office” management services to increase efficiencies, and fiscal sponsorship to our community of nonprofit organizations.
In 2019, the foundation conducted a study of Delaware County’s nonprofit organizations. A key finding from the study showed that nonprofit leaders ranked the strengthening of workforce capacity as one of their highest priorities. In response, the Center for Nonprofit Excellence was established to provide training and education for Delaware County’s nonprofit community.
The foundation awards competitive and restricted grants to nonprofits serving Delaware County, thanks to a permanent charitable endowment and generous donor contributions. More than $7.1M was awarded from 2017-2021, with a new Request for Proposals available on our website here.
For organizations with limited resources that could benefit from administrative and investment support, the foundation may be able to assist. Fiscal sponsorship and back-office accounting support are examples of management services offered to organizations by the foundation. To learn more, contact Laura DeFlavia, CFO.
