Laura DeFlavia

Laura DeFlavia, CPA has served as the Chief Financial Officer of The Foundation for Delaware County since 2019. In her role as CFO, she oversees all investments and finances for the foundation and works with the Board and executive team to develop and execute the foundation’s strategic plan.

Prior to joining the foundation, she served as the Controller for the Pottstown Area Health & Wellness Foundation (PAHWF) for 13 years. At PAHWF, she managed $82 million dollars of foundation investments and $56 million dollars of investments for its defined benefit pension plan. Throughout her career, DeFlavia has worked in public accounting, serving various industries, including nonprofits, retail, manufacturing, service organizations and government entities. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accounts (AICPA) and The Pennsylvania Institute of Public Accounts (PICPA).

DeFlavia serves on the board of the Philanthropy Network Greater Philadelphia, currently as their Treasurer and Finance Committee Chair.

DeFlavia served on the board of St. Eleanor’s Catholic Youth Organization as treasurer from 2007-2016. She also served as head coach for the Girls on the Run program at Upper Providence Elementary School from 2011 to 2015. Most recently, DeFlavia served on the Spring-Ford Area School District Health & Wellness Council from 2013-2017.

A graduate of Cabrini University, DeFlavia holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting with a minor in marketing, receiving the PICPA Award for Excellence in accounting studies. DeFlavia resides in Collegeville, PA with her husband and two daughters. In her spare time, she enjoys running, biking, reading, traveling with family and friends and spending as much time as possible in Ocean City, NJ.
