In the face of a crisis, our foundation can serve as a trusted, neutral convener, ready to lead and assist Delaware County where needed.
Playing a role that community foundations are known for across the country, the foundation is proud to serve as a resource for individuals, families, and businesses when natural or man-made disasters arise. Partnering with other nonprofits and local governments, we moved quickly to gather and distribute financial resources to nonprofits providing direct relief when the COVID-19 pandemic struck. Our Delaware County COVID-19 Response Fund—launched on March 13, 2020—ultimately raised $1 million from generous individuals, businesses and other foundations. These funds were distributed to nearly 100 nonprofits serving vulnerable residents across our county.
The COVID-19 crisis has had disparate health, economic, and social impacts on our most vulnerable citizens — including older adults, people with compromised immune systems, working families, and those experiencing homelessness. Our Response Fund was designed to support local nonprofit organizations that have proven track records and are trusted by the communities that are most disproportionately affected by this crisis.
The foundation is proud to partner with local nonprofits to provide volunteer opportunities. Join us as we continue to deploy resources to those who need them most.
