The Neighborhood Assistance Program for Businesses

The Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) provides tax credits to businesses that give contributions to vital community projects.

Any business who donates to The Foundation for Delaware County under this program will receive a PA tax credit of 90% for every dollar donated. The remaining 10% may also receive additional tax benefits as the Foundation is a tax exempt 501(c)(3) organization. These credits are flexible – they can be used immediately, carried forward for five years, sold, or passed through to shareholders, members, or partners.

NAP credits can be used to offset the following Pennsylvania state tax liabilities

  • Personal Income Tax (Via Passthrough Entity)
  • Corporate Net Income Tax
  • Bank Shares Tax
  • Title Insurance & Trust Company Shares Tax
  • Insurance Premiums Tax (excluding surplus lines, unauthorized, domestic/foreign marine)
  • Mutual Thrift Institutions Tax

The Foundation has been the proud recipient of NAP funding for our Housing Opportunities Program for Equity (HOPE), which ensures Delaware County families maintain stable, healthy housing.

Why should YOU consider directing your NAP contribution to The Foundation for Delaware County?

  1. Local Impact: Ensure your tax dollars make a difference right here in Delaware County
  2. Tangible Results: More than 95% of families remain stably housed 12 months after receiving support from HOPE
  3. It’s Easy: Our team has a track record of successful NAP applications and are available to walk you through the process. It does not require your business to receive any kind of preapproval from the Commonwealth.

NAP Projects can also count toward Community Reinvestment Act credits.
