Leaving a Legacy Through Estate Planning.
I have had a strong relationship with The Foundation for Delaware County for several years. In 2018, I helped found a program for teens affected by gun violence – The Chester Community Coalition – and over the years, the Foundation has provided grant funding for that program. The Foundation’s impact on the community through support for our organization and many other nonprofits, along with their steadfast philanthropic leadership, is guiding Delaware County into a promising future.
I have lived a privileged life, and I’m grateful to be in the position to have funds to distribute. As a way of giving back, I have left a bequest in my will to the Foundation. It’s one way to do my little bit to help reduce the wealth inequity in the world. As a board member of The Chester Community Coalition, I understand firsthand how important general operating funds are for organizations to be successful, so I’m thrilled that my contribution will be used for unrestricted support. I am passionate about the health and well-being of the people in Delaware County and recognize that the Foundation works to address our community’s challenges.
I feel confident in leaving a planned gift with the Foundation because they are not just funding feel-good programs; they understand the needs in the county and are directing resources to address those current and emerging needs. With this bequest, it is nice to be recognized as part of the Foundation’s ‘Legacy Society’ along with others who leave planned gifts that can have a true impact on the community. I hope others are inspired to join the Legacy Society and create a vibrant future for all people in Delaware County.
