Named in memory of donor Gerald Miller’s mother, two scholarships are provided each year. The first goes to an RN student at Delaware County Community College who plans to earn a bachelor of nursing degree. The second provides a doctor of nursing student at Widener University with funds to cover his or her dissertation costs. In each case the schools select the students, with approval from the foundation
Kevin Tighe was a former radiology tech student who died suddenly. Each semester his scholarship provides funds to purchase books and supplies for a radiology tech student in Widener/Crozer’s Allied Health Program. This scholarship receives the generous support of Kevin’s family and the Crozer-Keystone Health System’s radiologists, Southeast Radiology Ltd.
This scholarship fund was established in memory of Rick and Carol Parton’s daughter, Jenny. After a tragic accident in which Jenny died at age 19, Rick and Carol, along with their daughter Jessica, began to honor her legacy. Every year, one graduating Garnet Valley senior with learning disabilities is awarded a $2,000 scholarship for each year of college. The student can use those funds to pay for tuition, to purchase textbooks and more
