All Delaware County residents are invited to join a Chester MLK Day of Service on Monday, January 19, 2026. This event will be an opportunity to reflect on Dr. King’s life and work, while also taking action to improve our community. This event is hosted by Delaware County in partnership with Widener University, Philadelphia Union, City of Chester, Cultural Arts and Technology Center, Making a Change, Delaware County Heritage Commission, MLK Commemorative Committee of Chester and Vicinity, and America250PADelco.

Jan. 18, 4:00 p.m. The annual MLK Day concert will feature more than 100 children in grades 3-12 from Chester, Pennsylvania. The program includes spirituals, gospel favorites, and uplifting choral works, as well as reflections from CCC Executive and Artistic Director, John Alston, and Assistant Music Director, Sean Tripline, on Dr. King’s enduring legacy and the values that continue to shape communities today.
