Nonprofits Brace for the Impact of the Federal Government Shutdown and Pennsylvania State Budget Impasse

The nonprofit sector has demonstrated remarkable creativity and resilience as national and local leaders adapt to recent changes in funding priorities and government operations. These changes include federal spending cuts, a state budget impasse, and the government shutdown that began just after midnight on October 1, which restricts funding to essential services in the near term.

It is important for nonprofit leaders to stay aware of external factors that may influence programs and services, including potential funding delays or disruptions. Fortunately, national organizations (such as the National Council on Nonprofits) and statewide organizations, such as the (Pennsylvania Association of Nonprofit Organizations) offer valuable resources to help nonprofits navigate challenges, assess their impact on the communities they serve, and identify strategies to remain focused on building stronger, more resilient communities.

We look forward to understanding how we can help nonprofits in Delaware County navigate these turbulent times.
