Former Crozer Patients Can Now Access Medical Records Free of Charge Thanks to the Foundation

The Foundation for Delaware County reached an agreement with Prospect Medical Holdings, resolving outstanding real estate and legal matters. As part of the resolution, the Foundation will cover the cost for former Crozer Health Systems patients to obtain their medical records free of charge. The agreement was presented and approved by Judge Stacy Jernigan during a bankruptcy hearing on Wednesday, August 20, in Dallas.

Frances M. Sheehan, President of The Foundation for Delaware County, shared:

“We’re pleased to have the opportunity to assist Delaware County residents whose patient record fees may have been a stumbling block for their transition to new health systems with Crozer’s closure.”

Sheehan went on to say, “Our community is facing significant challenges — and it needs a strong, focused Foundation. This agreement enables us to focus on our mission and serve the families of Delaware County. As the administrator of several maternal health programs — including three WIC clinics, the Nurse-Family Partnership, and Healthy Start home visiting programs — we work with many families in the neighborhoods surrounding these hospitals. We look forward to sharing exciting news about the future of these programs in the coming months. In the meantime, our Center for Nonprofit Excellence is expanding with new programs and services, and we’re already planning an even bigger Delco Gives for 2026. Stay tuned for the date!”
