Center for Nonprofit Excellence Learning Opportunity: Theory of Change Development – Setting a Foundation for Program Strategy and Impact

This is part one of a three-part series on nonprofit evaluation! This session will give a brief overview of program evaluation. It will guide participants in creating a theory of change, key for developing program strategies and understanding impact. During the interactive session, participants will learn to explain how program activities connect to outputs and intended outcomes, both short- and long-term. Participants will be able to:

(1) Describe the main types and uses of program evaluation.

(2) Define the key parts of a theory of change.

(3) Map the pathways between program activities and short- and long-term outcomes.
