Karen is a certified full-spectrum doula and CLC. With degrees in education and social work, she is a CAPPA doula trainer, advisor of CAPPA’s postpartum doula certification program, and Healthy Start Project Director. Karen loves birth work because everyone involved becomes someone new. She believes the birth space is sacred and feels privileged to help birthing people along their journey, supporting healing, health equity, and the rights of childbearing people.

Kenya is a labor and postpartum doula who started birth work due to her pregnancy journey and lived experience. Suppose she had heard or known about the support of a Labor Doula assisting her. Kenya feels the outcome would have been different. As a Doula, Kenya aims to support other women and their partners in knowing their rights and decisions around their birth and helping them experience a healthy and happy outcome to their birthing experience.

Raised in Delaware County, Porsché has a B.A. in Communications from Cheyney University and her Pregnancy and Infant Loss Advocate certification. A labor doula since 2022, Porsché’s own birth story and experience as a preemie mom inspired her to pursue this path. Porsché is empathetic and committed to educating women about their rights, ensuring no birthing person ever feels alone, and providing her community with evidence-based information and support.

Mother of two and a VBAC champion, Shakirah brings both personal experience and professional training to support families through their birth journeys. Expecting to complete her CAPPA labor doula certification in June, she specializes in assisting new and experienced moms, and those with preexisting health conditions. She welcomes all families looking for compassionate, informed birth support. Her goal is to empower and nurture parents as they navigate this transformative time.
